My, my - the world has changed….

June 25th, 2010

Hey comrades, the summer solstice is upon us and we’re still charging onward, submerging deeper into 2010. It’s been a while since we posted anything cuz our minds just weren’t cooperating to really write anything rational or worth understanding. So, between earthquakes, a waning economy, a monolithic cor(e)por(n)ation polluting our ocean and destroying our ecosystem and the mixed feelings of healthcare reform, we’ve decided to shun the negative media influences of despair and tread towards greener pastures.

Right now, we’re currently playing shows around So Cal, promoting Saturday Evening Underground, and just having fun meeting new people, and hanging out with old friends. It’s been a blast having all of the LF minions coming out and supporting us at all of our gigs. We’re in the process of writing new songs for our follow-up album to SEU, Sunday Nights Earths’ Crust (sorry, stupid bad fucking asshole joke). But really, we have begun the writing process of another new album so this should be interesting…..

So with that, and on a more serious and personal note, it is with great sadness and loss that on April 13th, 2010, our good friend, fellow musician, and brother, Aaron Gabriel Rowan passed away unexpectedly. He was the lead singer/guitarist for Spero Lumina to which our explosive drummer, Brant, rode the helm as the drummer for that band for the last 10 years. This obviously encompassed our emotions with gripping shock and sadness to all of us in the LF camp. Aaron was my musical confidant, and one of my biggest supporters musically, and lyrically, and I will greatly miss him. So we toast to him, Saturday Evening Underground……..

We hope to see many of you at some of our upcoming gigs:
June 26th, 2010 |The Radio Room
July 27th, 2010 |The Casbah

We’re also currently working on some gigs with a kick-ass band, The Regime, so we’re ready to set this city on fire……..

See ya around the bend,

Peace

Appreciation and Thanks!! Spring Break update in the LF camp

The Radio Room - San Diego, CA CD-RELEASE-SHOW! March 19, 2010 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm So we are in the 3rd month of the year of our Lord, 2010, and we finally got through the CD Release show. We’d like to extend our thanks to The Radio Room for hosting this extraordinary event for us, and also to the bands that were a part of this historic moment for us: Breaker Breaker One Niner, Black Sails Western Shores & The Prosthetic Arms. We also would like to extend a personal thanks to Ziggy for being accomodating for this show during our personal crisis. And lastly, to our rabid fans who stayed the whole fucking time. It was an honor to play for all of you who came and made it such a memorable night for us. We will never forget that moment! So, we press onward towards more gigs and booking our summer tour up the coast to support Saturday Evening Underground. In the meantime, we’ll be invading Los Angeles and Santa Barbara for a mini-tour with a bad fucking ass band, The Regime, in a few weeks. Til then, be progressive.

From the dungeon and the desk of our scattered minds,

LF

Saturday Evening Underground…Finally.

February 27th, 2010

Hey worms and wormholes,

Saturday Evening UndergroundAs most of you know, the new Londons Falling: Saturday Evening Underground CDs have finally arrived. We are ecstatic about the result of this project, and we want to thank everyone for their patience and believing in us that we weren’t bullshitting you that we were gonna get this fuckin’ thing done. We like to extend our deepest thanks to Jim Nau & Jon Hasz for their diligence, time, and mastery of their skills to this project. We are indebted to them for making our vision a reality.

So in the face of human struggle (which is a constant theme nowadays) and the carnage that accompanies its’ ugly face, we decided to give back to organizations that truly make a difference, not only by our physical actions, but fiscally. So when you purchase the new album, a portion of your money will go towards San Diego Youth Services Storefront Night Shelter. This emergency shelter is a place of safety for homeless, runaway, and “street” youth. I’ve been volunteering there on and off for over two years hangin’ with the youth, playin’ music with them, and listenin’ to their stories, dreams, and ideas.

We encourage people to be active in their communities by volunteering or donating money to organizations like San Diego Youth Services. Thanks for helping us out and thanks for helping the youth of San Diego. Let’s truly try to make a difference in 2010.

Howard Zinn (1922-2010)

January 29th, 2010

Howard Zinn (1922-2010)I just found out this morning that noted author, historian and social activist, Howard Zinn, passed away yesterday. I am deeply saddened by this news as he was a highly influential figure in my young adult life. I remember my mom having his book, “A People’s History of the United States”, and reading it. The effect that this book had on me still resonates loudly within my personal beliefs and ideology. If you haven’t read this book, I highly suggest it. Another exceptional book of his is, “You Can’t Be Neutral on a Moving Train”. …read more!

10 in 2010! (A decade of Punk)

January 23rd, 2010

Hey Skirts and Skins

It’s been a while since we last had given an update on what’s been happening in the LF Camp and we have to say that it’s been nothing, but good news and good times. For starters, the album is finally fucking done, and we are pretty damn proud of it! We would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Jim Nau and Jon Hasz for putting up with all of our bitchin’, complainin’, shittin’ and whinin’ throughout the entire recording process. Those men are living Buddha’s and we were fortunate to have them help us create this monster of an album. Sooooo, all that’s really left is the artwork; the printing and the pressing and we are set. We are hoping for an early-mid February release, so look for our CD release show(s) (we think we need more than one). …read more!

25th Annual CA Coastal Cleanup Day

September 19th, 2009

2Non-Native species of the California CoastUPDATE: California Coastal Cleanup Day was a success! I first would like to thank: Schimdty Bonez, Amber, The Ace, and Weston from Spero Lumina for coming out on an early Saturday morn and sacrificing their hangovers, (well at least The Ace) and participating in this annual event that Londons Falling supports. As opposed to last year, we didn’t pick up as much trash, which was great! (however, Brant wasn’t there to scale the side of the cliffs for the empty 24oz cans of beer and empty bottles of booze either). Afterwards, we went to the Cap’ns, had a beer, and me and Mr. Maurice were off to the hills for Day 4 recording.

a Brantin’ & a Bolton

September 8th, 2008

Well as San Diego natives, we do not have much hope in our sports teams as our Padres are close to a 100 game losing season and our beloved San Diego Chargers lost the first game of their hopeful Super Bowl season, but there is one thing that is for sure: Londons Falling is a stable and mobile band. So yes, another transition has taken place in this band and we introduce a demonstrative drummer that goes by the last name of Bolton. Kats and kittens, we introduce our new drummer: Brant “no he hasn’t heard the fuckin’ joke, Michael, so fuck off” Bolton. This transition has finally pieced the puzzle together of this band and we are quite stoked about it. Brant also plays in the band Spero Lumina, so we are in-debted to Aaron, Weston, and Sean for this opportunity to play with such an amazing drummer.  So settle in, my comrades, more shows and a new album awaits…………………

Registration is now open for the largest volunteer event in San Diego!

San Diego Coastkeeper and I Love A Clean San Diego, in partnership with the California Coastal Commission, join together each year to cleanup local inland and coastal waterways and beaches in order to prevent marine debris from entering the ocean and to educate Coastal Cleanup Day participants about the importance of pollution prevention. Up to 80 percent of the marine debris on our beaches & oceans comes from a land-based source and that’s why we are counting on YOU to clean up your local beaches, bays, canyons, rivers and creek beds to prevent this trash from polluting our ocean. …read more!
