Londons Falling
Londons Falling is a progressive punk band from San Diego, CA that originated from the hills and valleys of Ramona, CA in 2001. The members currently consist of Kevin White (lead vocals & guitar), Travis Dahl (lead guitar), Nick Rodney (bass) & Brant Bolton (drums). To date, the band has released 3 full length albums, 2 EPs, & 1 single through the small indie based label, Rodeo Records, and have contributed to 2 compilations releases through East Village Records. The bands music stems from an eclectic selection of influences containing elements of blues, classic rock, hardcore punk and alternative rock while layering lyrical imagery spanning between personal affliction and social consciousness.

As a King fan, I'd somehow avoided the Dar Tower series, probably because I didn't want to commit to a number of long books. However, finding this in a beautiful graphic form and still seeing King's distinctive stamp on it was a pleasure indeed. Now it's got me eyeing the text versions...highly recommended for all King fans and comics fans.

Long-time fans of Stephen King's Gunslinger/Dark Tower series will find much to like in this semi-adaptation of Roland's younger years that chronicles Roland's emergence as a rookie Gunslinger, his first mission as well as the saga of his first love. The well-crafted story that originally spanned 7 comic-book issues remains accessible enough that newcomers with no exposure to the Stephen King novels will have no problem getting acclimated and accustomed to the characters by the end of the first chapter. Those already well versed in this universe will find much to like in this 'expanded' retelling of a storyline previously touched on in flashback sketches. The art work and pacing are excellent, and purchasers of the hard-back edition will appreciate the solid glossy paper.
